Well, I was sensing (you know my Myers-Briggs is off the charts sensing vs. perceiving[my wife just informed me that it is sensing vs. intuitive, and that I am intuitive... whatever]) that those of you who are kind enough to read our blog were growing weary of my "verse of the week" entries since so many of them were running together. So I took a week off in order to allow some fun family type stuff to get posted.
So, once again, here is one of the verses that I am memorizing this week that is having an impact on my understanding of God and man.
"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men." --Paul of Tarsus (1 Corinthians 1:25)
The "because" in this verse is referencing the foolishness (in the world's eyes) of the cross of Jesus. That through what the world would consider foolish, God actually provided a way for any person who believes to know Him, be forgiven of their offenses against God and therefore to walk in freshness of life, having that "new car smell" as it were.
This is a great comfort to me when, as I follow God, my decisions don't seem to make sense in this world. It gives me courage to obey God when, in my own estimation, I don't understand why God could possibly want me to do "that" or be "this" or go "there". His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. --Bobby
