There was an epic battle on the not-so-frozen tundra of Young Park today. Six mighty jersey-clad warriors battled it out until all energy was spent and everything that could be given was laid out on that field.
It started out with the mixed-nuts: The Buccaneer (Yours Truly), The Colt (Andrew) and the Viking (Jackson G.) vs. the mighty Bronco gang of Mr. Bryan G., Austin and Zach G.
There were many small battles within the mighty gridiron war, as the teams seem to continue to evolve and mutate into other teams. The day ended with the four mini warriors scoring the last touchdown on the seasoned, battle-tested (and maybe a little belly-challenged) dads for the winning score.
In the end, all enjoyed the knowledge that their best was given, and maybe the kids gloried in the fact that they had beaten their dads... Maybe just a little.
