Reasons to praise Father to this point…
*Our trip here was as good as it could have been
*Austin is healthy, as well as Andrew and Daddy
*Our jet lag has been minor and the boys have stayed awake during the day
*Father has provided wonderfully all our needs to this point
Things to ask for…
*Tyra seems to be having a relapse of Strep, please pray for her recovery
*The boys and I wouldn’t catch anything and remain healthy
*We would meet English speaking families here
*We would be a strong source of encouragement for the group here
Today (Sunday) we had the day to relax. The group here has kept us very busy, which has been good. Our clocks seem to have adjusted well as a result.
Yesterday we got up early and took a train to probably the most famous city in our country, I’ll call it C-town.
This is where most of the people live who are here for the same reason that we are. The boys got to play all day at a school fair. There is a family here with two boys close to Andrew and Austin’s age. After the fair, we went to their house and the boys played together for hours. It was just what they needed.
Today, Tyra is not feeling well, so I took the boys for an outing to the local McDonald’s. (I know, the sacrifices that I make…) On the walk back, Austin said, “I like Africa, Africa is fun.”
About halfway back, I asked Andrew if he thought he could get us back home. He was pretty confident he could, so I let him lead. Without ever turning around or asking my opinion, he led us through the winding, busy downtown section of our city, right to the door of our building! He’s six, we’ve only been here a couple of days, and we’ve only taken this walk once before (the train station is on the same route)!! As Nana says, gifted, gifted, gifted…
We have thoroughly enjoyed the group here, and they have taken outstanding care of us. We have already seen many of the significant places in this city and have learned how to take the bus back and forth between our apartment and theirs. In the next couple of days, we will be exploring more bus routes in order to learn how to get around the city ourselves.
Thank you for all of your prayers. We continue to need them daily.

Hello Erickson family!
We all miss you dearly, but we know that Father is using you in great ways. Continue to have fun, share, and pave the way for our summer friends. We are all heading to O week on saturday...so we will be enjoying some arabic culture as well. I will be thinking of you during that time!
