Just Life

Part of everyday for us is just learning how to live here. I have spent time during this second week trying to shop for food and cook on my own. (I am most proud of ordering a half kilo of ground beef in Arabic and actually getting what I thought I ordered.) Yesterday a friend took me to a fruit and vegetable market. It was great fun. They have wonderfully fresh stuff.

Bobby has taken on the challenge of using our washing machine. We are so thankful to have it . . . but we haven’t really figured out how to use it. We suspect it might be broken, but so far we haven’t had to wash our clothes in the shower so I’m very grateful. The boys think hanging the clothes on the roof is great fun. (Don’t worry mom, they can’t fall.) --t
