We are nearing the two year mark when we began this crazy journey. Honestly, it doesn't feel like it has been that long!
With a move to a new city, a new job and all of our other paperwork expiring (or expired!), we have spent the last month updating paperwork. All five of us went to a new doctor and renewed our physicals, Bobby and I renewed our fingerprints, FBI checks and validated our new employment. We met with a new case worker here and she inspected our new home, interviewed us again, and interviewed the kids. (We've been talking about adding a girl to our family all this time and Austin told her he was hoping for a brother! : )
People often comment how ridiculous it is that we have to continue to "jump through hoops" to adopt but we really don't see it that way. Wherever there is adoption, there will be corruption. It is a terrible thing but it is reality. The more we can do to safeguard the process and protect children who are being adopted the better. We are happy to do it.
The real noteworthy news is that we are at the top of the list for a referral. Our agency is referring children to families that sent their paperwork to Ethiopia in mid-February. Our paperwork went February 27th (2009). The reality hasn't quite set in that we could have a name and a face of a little girl by the end of the summer!
We will certainly be ready to celebrate that news when it comes!
Thanks for following along!

How exciting! Whoever she is, she'll be a blessed little lady to join your family!
Hah!! We had one of those re-visits for a homestudy update and Hannah said she'd like a brother. We'd been praying for our baby sister for 2 years... You know the end of that story.
