Andrew is so precious. It amazes me how fast they grow up. I had a lump in my throat all day watching him grow up right in front of me.
When he started kindergarten in the fall, I don't think he had any clue about girls. Poor little guy. Several weeks into it, we were flipping channels on TV and passed by a wedding scene. He giggled and said, "Oh, mom. I forgot to tell you that I'm going to do that."
"Do what?"
"I'm going to get married."
I choked on what I was eating and asked a few more questions. Apparently, this little girl at school informed him about being boyfriend and girlfriend and that, of course, leads to marriage. For those of you that haven't been around Andrew much, he loves to run. It's no surprise that when we asked him what he liked about her he said, "She's FAST!" They spent the fall semester chasing each other around the playground.
That brings me to this week. Yesterday he was watching me cook dinner and finally blurted out, "Mom I asked Alyssa today if we were still boyfriend and girlfriend, because I just didn't know."
"What did she say?"
"Well, I don't know. She just kept running around the playground."
I found out tonight that he asked her again today and she said yes. He asked me if I thought God would want him to marry her and then in the same breath said not to tell daddy because it was embarrassing. Bless his little heart.

that's so sweet, and you're such a great mom. :)
oh my goodness! how precious is that .... and pretty funny too! I second Tera for sure.
could he be any cuter??? and why isn't it still that simple when you grow up, i mean can i just be a fast runner and some boy will go home and tell his mom that he is going to marry me? j/k i love that he is already concerned about what God wants for him- you are indeed the world's greatest mom! i love you guys so much!
That reminds me when Bobby was small...a girl called him and asked if he would go with her. He said to me that he didn't know where she wanted to go!! I told him it would be ok to say no.
