You dossier was shipped 2/27/09! You are on the waiting list.
We are so excited! This is the date that all of our paperwork was completed and shipped to our agency office in Ethiopia.
Now we wait.
Just to be clear, we are not waiting for an orphan. There are between 4 and 5 million precious children that are legal orphans in Ethiopia. Our agency has 63 babies right now in their Layla House. They are overwhelmed daily with diaper changes and bottle feedings.
The adoption process has slowed down considerably over the last year in Ethiopia. We are guessing that is because of the increased number of adoptions in general slowing down the court system. The number of Americans adopting from Ethiopia has doubled every year for the past three years. We have also heard the government has been more strict in court. This is a good thing for children but it also makes the wait a little longer.
So we are on the waiting list. As soon as the families in front of us get through court and travel to pick up their babies, it will be our turn.

How cool!!! So do they communicate regularly with you? Will they send you pics of the babies or how does all that work?
Ooohh I am SO excited! I can't wait see that little girl in your arms! Thanks for the AHOPE website. I already got a shirt for me and a onesie for Nellie. Need to post link to my blog next time. Your boys are going to be the best big brothers, please court system go fast!
